herbal medicine

Herbal medicine - also known as phytotherapy or phytomedicine - refers to the use of a plant seed, berries, roots, leaves, bark or flowers for medicinal purposes. Herb has a long history of use outside of conventional medicine. It is becoming increasingly common as improvements in analysis and quality control as well as progress in clinical research shows the value of medicinal plants in treating and preventing disease.
